I really enjoy traveling because it lets me experience places that feel different from my everyday life. Traveling helps me understand new cultures, try unfamiliar foods, and notice how people live in ways I wouldn’t see at home. One of my favorite trips was to Florida, where I visited both Disney World and Key West. Disney World was full of excitement and imagination, but Key West stood out to me more because of its history and character. Visiting Ernest Hemingway’s house and meeting the famous six-toed cats made the place feel both quirky and meaningful, like a story you could walk through.

Looking at the New York Times’ “52 Places to Go” list for 2026 made me realize how many different kinds of experiences travel can offer. Okinawa, Japan, caught my attention because it combines natural beauty with deep history, especially with the reopening of Shuri Castle. The Tien Shan Mountains in Kyrgyzstan also fascinate me because they represent adventure and remoteness. Hiking past turquoise lakes and towering cliffs would feel like stepping into a completely different world. I was also drawn to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania, where wildlife lives freely. Seeing animals like rhinos or elephants in their natural habitat would be unforgettable and would help me appreciate nature in a more real way.

If I had to choose one region I most want to visit, it would be East Asia, especially Korea or Japan. I’m excited by how tradition and modern life exist side by side there. I would love to try authentic food, from ramen and sushi to Korean barbecue and street snacks, and explore shops selling cosmetics and skincare products I’ve only seen online. Visiting temples, palaces, and festivals, walking through the busy streets of Seoul, or seeing cherry blossoms in Japan would make those cultures feel alive instead of distant.

When I think about what makes a place appealing to me, it isn’t just one thing. I’m drawn to destinations that mix culture, adventure, and everyday life. I enjoy cities with unique sights and energy, but I also love places where nature feels powerful and untouched. Most of all, I prefer traveling somewhere completely new rather than returning to familiar places, because discovering something unfamiliar helps me grow more curious and open-minded.

There are also places I would recommend even though they didn’t make the Times list. Key West is one of them. Its colorful houses, relaxed atmosphere, and unusual details—like Hemingway’s cats—make it memorable in a way no guidebook could fully explain. Experiences like that remind me why I love traveling: not just to see famous landmarks, but to find moments that stay with you long after the trip ends.
